Health of the U.S. Nonprofit Sector December 2024 Report

Independent Sector’s 2024 Health of the U.S. Nonprofit Sector: Annual Review, released in December 2024, provides data, analysis, and recommendations about the key areas powering more than 1.8 million U.S. nonprofits: economy and finances, workforce, trust and governance, and public policy advocacy. Drawing from a range of sector research and Independent Sector’s analysis, the report offers a high-level snapshot of today's nonprofit sector.

Since 2020, the Health of the U.S. Nonprofit Sector reports have been an evolving and growing resource for nonprofit leaders, policymakers, and philanthropic organizations. By presenting a broad set of measures side-by-side, they enable stakeholders and decision-makers to assess the state of the nonprofit sector quickly.
