More opportunities with Pennsylvania Prison Society Centre County Chapter

We need volunteers and trained advocates for prisoners at SCI Benner Township and Centre County Prison.

The mission of the Pennsylvania Prison Society is to advocate for a humane, just, and restorative correctional system and to promote a rational approach to criminal justice issues.

Prison Monitors, or “Official Visitors,” visit prisoners to assist them with issues ranging from serious medical concerns to reconnecting with family members. They sit down one-on-one (either in person or virtually) with incarcerated people who are experiencing problems and elevate concerns directly with staff or with others who may be able to help when conditions impact health and safety.

Prison Monitors’ right to visit is protected by state law, and we provide training and support.
