The mission of the Columbus Chapel & Boal Mansion Museum is to preserve the 225-year-old Boal Estate, its buildings, collections, and grounds as a creative site to promote historical education, performing arts, and environmental stewardship.
The Museum’s goals are:
Put in place the organizational and financial structures that will help us to achieve our mission.
Provide an extraordinary guest experience—enhance communication strategies, create world-class facilities, and train staff.
Take a curatorial approach to managing the Estate—communicate its legacy, catalog its historic collection, and engage and inspire new audiences.
Serve as a leader in environmental stewardship—commit to conservation and sustainable practices, promote educational programs, and foster a culture of sustainability.
Enhance existing educational programs and share intellectual capital—expand educational programs, develop and disseminate new knowledge, and partner with other institutions.
