Office for Research Protections, Penn State University

The Office for Research Protections (ORP) is Penn State’s home for research ethics and compliance, where we partner with researchers to maintain the integrity of Penn State research. The ORP ensures that research at the University is conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines that protect human participants, animals, students, and personnel involved with research. As part of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research, the ORP plays a pivotal role in supporting Penn State’s vibrant research community. The ORP relies on volunteers who serve on our ethics committees as non-affiliated members, representing the voice of the community.
