Board of Directors Position

Pets Come First is seeking passionate, skilled leaders to join our Board of Directors. Located just 10 miles from State College and Penn State University, we’ve been placing animals into forever homes since 2005. Last year alone, we adopted out over 500 cats, dogs, and small animals.

Board members play a vital role in shaping the shelter’s vision, strategy, and sustainability. We’re looking for forward-thinking individuals to help expand our reach, strengthen community impact, and support positive change in animal welfare across the region.

Ideal candidates bring leadership experience, professional expertise, and a passion for our mission. Board members actively participate in meetings, committees, and fundraising, and serve as ambassadors in the community. Nonprofit governance knowledge is a plus.
