The Cultural Events Committee Chair serves for a one-year term from January to December. The position is a voluntary one.

In Global Connections, Cultural Events are activities that promote an understanding of diverse cultures, in particular a model of a meal demonstrating the cuisine of a country or region with a presentation or talk on the culture of that country/region.

The duties and responsibilities of the Committee Chair are the following:

· Identify opportunities for conducting cultural events, in particular meals, as an educational tool and to generate revenue for the organization. Ideally, 3-4 events are conducted per year.

· Recruit people to prepare and serve representative meals employing various models.

· Organize teams of volunteers to assist with these events.

· Oversee the annual International Poetry Evening, which is organized by other GC members.

· Participate in the leadership and management of the organization by attending monthly Executive Committee meetings as a voting member.
