Some of our docents have been doing this for over 15 years and, while still enthusiastic, we do need backup. Also, more docents would mean we could offer tours more frequently.

Docents need to have clear speaking voices, be able to memorize a lengthy script covering two floors of the Boal Mansion, the Columbus Chapel, and the Columbus Exhibit.

Eventually, they'll need to add the Transportation and Early American Life Exhibit and greater detail on the Armory.

It's easiest to start learning the tour in the winter or spring, section by section.

We open to the public on April 1st and continue through October, with regular tours at 2 PM Wednesday through Sunday.

We'd love to add more tours when possible.

Also, we need docents occasionally during the other five months of the year, for bus tours and special events.

Please consider keeping our history alive and telling the stories that make Boalsburg famous!
