Nittany Beagle Rescue seeks beagle-friendly foster homes to provide a warm, safe environment for our beagles while they seek out their forever homes.

Why Foster?

Foster homes provide beagles that would otherwise end up in shelters or kennels, with a temporary, warm, "family" environment.

Foster homes also allow us to learn more about the dog's behavior, temperament, and characteristics (e.g., Will the dog do well in a family with children? Is the dog housebroken?)

How Long Will I Have a Foster Dog?

The length of a foster dog's stay depends upon how long it takes for us to find the beagle’s forever home. Sometimes dogs are adopted within a week and other times, a dog might be in a foster home for several months or more.

If the dog is not working out, we can make arrangements to find another place for the dog to stay.

If I Have Other Pets Can I Still Foster a Beagle?

Of course! We require that your pets are spayed or neutered and up to date on all shots before you can foster a Nittany Beagle Rescue beagle.
