As a trained volunteer driver, you'll join cancer patients on a crucial part of their journey to recovery, transporting them to and from their appointments

The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program gives cancer patients free transportation for cancer-related medical appointments.

As a trained volunteer driver, you'll join cancer patients on a crucial part of their journey to recovery, transporting them to and from their appointments and ensuring their access to care isn't prevented or delayed because of lack of transportation.

Road to Recovery Volunteer Drivers are asked to aim to provide at least one ride per week (dependent on ride requests).

These rides typically take place during regular business hours as that is when cancer treatment appointments are scheduled.

Training is all online and takes about an hour to complete.

Volunteers must:

  1. Be able to access the internet from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

  2. Have a phone (mobile or landline).

  3. Have a valid Driver’s License & a safely maintained and properly insured vehicle.

  4. Be willing to submit to Motor Vehicle and Criminal Background Checks.
